Dr. Kelly Shimada, DDS

Meet Dr. Kelly Shimada

Prior to settling down in Tampa, Dr. Kelly A. Shimada moved to Los Angeles from her home state of Connecticut for Occidental College to earn her B.A. in music, emphasis in vocal performance. While studying music at Oxy, she was completing her pre-dental requirements as well. Dr. Shimada received her D.D.S. from the UCLA School of Dentistry c/o 2012 and then went on to pursue an additional one-year Hospital Dentistry/General Practice Residency (GPR) at UCLA afterwards. After her GPR year, she completed a 3-year Advanced Prosthodontics Residency program at the West Los Angeles VA Hospital (Wadsworth) where she specialized in full mouth rehabilitation cases. Upon completion of her prosthodontic program, as the cherry on top, she went on to become a board certified prosthodontist.

Outside of the office, you can find Dr. Shimada at Orange theory, cooking, traveling, and gardening at home. She plays “mom” to an adorable, old kitty named Bruno. While she is no longer a musician in training, you may still catch her singing along with the office radio station.
